The North Carolina Association of Community College Business Office Professionals (NC ACCBO) promotes the cooperative efforts, professional ideals, principles and standards of education, business and financial administration; collects and disseminates information pertaining to the business administration and fiscal affairs of community college system institutions; provides the means through which community college business officials may express their views on matters involving fiscal and business affairs; and assists its members to effectively perform management functions.

Membership in the NC ACCBO organization is open to each institution in the North Carolina Community College System and to members of the North Carolina Community College System Office. Our organization is also open to college vendors who are interested in supporting the North Carolina Community Colleges. ACCBO is committed to providing relevant and current continuing professional education (CPE) to its members. ACCBO’s goal is to improve education through the support and professional development of community college business personnel. This professional education encompasses both technical and non-technical professional skills. Subjects include accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, internal control, ethics, purchasing, travel, human resources, financial aid, auditing, capital improvements, facility operations, specialized knowledge and applications, and management, other subjects including personal development are also provided. Speakers are individuals recognized as having expertise in their respective field.

The Association delivers these training opportunities through the Community College Finance Institute (CCFI) and through annual conferences.

CCFI delivers instructional coursework that focuses on, sharing of ideas and leadership training for current and future Community College Business Officials. Courses are taught by qualified community college personnel, System Office personnel, and/or by ex-CFO’s. Our organization holds a conference each year. Our conference provides valuable networking and professional development opportunities for finance office and human resources personnel as well as opportunities for college finance staff to interact with vendors and learn about new products.
